Builder's Club

What the builders stand for:

Builders Club is a student-led community service organization that operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body. Members learn to work together and develop service and leadership skills as they serve their school and community. The Hooksett Kiwanis club, composed of like-minded, service-oriented people from the community, serves as the clubʼs sponsor. Builders Club Board Meetings are held after school on the second Thursday of each month. General Membership meetings are held on the third Friday of each month. While there are some activities which take place within the school, most of our activities are community service based activities which take place on weekends. The club coordinators are Ms. Hartigan-Demers and Ms. Michaud.

The objectives of Builders Club are:

  • To provide opportunities for working together in service to school and community.

  • To develop leadership potential.

  • To foster development of a strong moral character.

  • To encourage loyalty to school, community, and nation.

The Builders Club is a student-led service organization which provides opportunities for students to work together in service to our school and our community. We have many returning members in the Builders Club and recently held an informational meeting for students who were interested in joining our group. We had a great turnout at the meeting and look forward to welcoming over 20 new members from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Our biggest event of the year is our annual Luke Capistran 5K race, 3K walk and children’s Fun Run which was held in our own Derryfield Park on September 28th. All monies raised from this event will be used to send Hillside students to various summer camps. Anyone wishing to contribute to our scholarship fund can send a check (made payable to Hillside Middle School) to Hillside in care of the Builders Club.

In October, we will be holding our annual month long “Socktober” drive during which we will be collecting new pairs of winter socks, canned pasta, toiletries, hand warmers, and gloves for the veterans of Liberty House.

We would like to thank the following board members for bringing us into the start of a great new year: President Mia Cunningham, Hillside VP Cayden Castro, Community VP Chyanne Rhinehart,, Secretary Maggie Noon, Treasurer Jonathan Reyes, and Director at Large Mollie Noon. We will soon hold an election for the position of Publicity Coordinator. Please check out all the wonderful things we do on our Facebook page Hillside Middle School Builders Club.
