basket

October 20, 2023

Dear Hillside Community,

We have begun our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive here at Hillside and it will last until November 17th.  The Green Machine’s goal is to create and distribute 100 food baskets!

Over the past 20-plus years, the Thanksgiving Food Drive has provided more than 1,500 Hillside and Manchester families with a turkey and a basket full of food items thanks to the generosity of our students, families and staff. Through the goodness of our hearts, we are hoping to continue this incredible tradition of caring that has been a part of our Hillside community for decades. We have also assisted New Horizons, the New Hampshire Food Bank and Blessed Sacrament Food Pantry with their food drive causes as well.

Please consider donating the following items (and please check expiration dates):

1) Boxes of stuffing, Mac N Cheese, rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, oatmeal, spaghetti, cereal, crackers, popcorn, cereal bars, granola bars, pancake, muffin, brownie, cake, bread or cookie mixes, Shake N Bake, Hamburger Helper, scalloped potatoes, etc.

2) Bags of rice, beans, ramen noodles, pasta, etc. Cans of tuna, vegetables, fruits, soups, SpaghettiOs, beans, chili, etc.

4) Misc goods: roasting trays, paper goods.

5) Note: Due to a lack of storage space, we will not be collecting turkeys this year.  Instead we will be distributing $20 supermarket gift certificates in each basket and families can select their own.  Please reach out to me or Mrs. Loughlin directly with these donations.

Any other items we may have overlooked are appreciated. Thank you in advance for your collaboration and support.

Respectfully,

Brendan McCafferty
